  • Overview

    Under the direction of the Director the C&L Business Analyst is responsible for managing and coordination of analysis projects that support AltaMed’s C&L strategic initiatives. The main responsibilities include, coordination of C&L organization assessment, operations research and evaluation that measure Cultural, Linguistic, Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards, and application of qualitative and quantitative methodologies for reports on patient quality, utilization and outcomes. Additional data analysis includes health care costs, return on investments (ROI), and or market research data. Position responsibilities can include data mining, analysis and reporting of clinical quality, patient utilization and outcome, and financial data, comparative analysis of AltaMed’s performance against benchmarked health industry data, and analysis of market research or financial data for business development and growth initiatives. Responsibilities will also include the cultivation and maintenance of relationship with external partners and data sources and delivering customer focused work product to inform decisions for the Department. .



    1. Gathers and manages patient demographic, and utilization, clinical quality and health care data for analysis and reporting.
    2. Conducts formative research and evaluation for quality analysis.
    3. Applies needs assessments strategies to establish measures and track metrics
    4. Analyzes external health industry benchmark data to determine AltaMed’s comparative performance in clinical quality, cost efficiency, and patient experience.
    5. Leads and manages data analysis projects, including use of quantitative or predictive analytics that support AltaMed’s integration, growth and maximizing value strategic initiatives.
    6. Reviews health policy and health care industry information sources to stay current and inform key stakeholders on emerging health care industry issues.
    7. Creates summary and detailed informational reports and presentations for AltaMed leadership and management to support business decisions that enable AltaMed to achieve its strategic goals and objectives.
    8. Supports the development of manuscript and publications that will raise the profile of AltaMed in the C&L industry.
    9. Cultivates and maintains partnerships and collaborations with internal and external business partners.
    10. Assists members of AltaMed’s Business Intelligence community and other departmental team members in accessing and analyzing health care data and information.
    11. Performs other related duties as assigned.



    1. M.A. degree in public health, health administration, business administration, public administration or relatedfield required.
    2. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in analysis of health care operations, patient, clinical quality or financial data.
