  • Overview

    This position will report to the Assistant Vice President of Talent Management until a Senior Manager of Talent Management is hired. This individual will support the implementation of the strategy, programs and processes to increase the organization’s human capacity through assessment, succession planning and leadership and management development of employees. This includes the implementation of AltaMed’s Management Development Institute (MDI), re-deploying New Manager Orientation (NMO), supporting talent review process, and assessing, developing and implementing new processes and offerings to improve management skills and career development for managers and leaders. This role will be responsible for integrating the enterprise-wide management and leadership development expectations into training and development offerings.



    1. Support the annual Succession Planning (Management Resource Review) Process.
    2. Develop and implement a Management Development Institute (MDI) integrated with the quarterly Leadership Development Institute (LDI).
    3. Redesign New Manager Orientation (NMO) and relaunch determined manager training.
    4. Develop or deliver internal training programs or acquire from outside vendors related talent management training.
    5. Lead the integration of enterprise-wide management practices into new management expectations and leadership development offerings.
    6. Collaborate with leadership stakeholders and other HR functions to determine core management and leadership competencies as well as competencies by level and function, e.g., strategic workforce planning and talent acquisition.
    7. Support development of innovative programs to support the identification of talent pools and other vehicles to drive talent development at multiple levels of the organization.
    8. Standing member of the Leadership Development and Management Development planning teams. Facilitate career development in accordance with succession development plan process.
    9. Provide coaching and mentoring to leaders so that talent conversations and activities become a key component of their daily work life.
    10. Partner in the analytic effort and establish metrics to ensure the effectiveness of the enterprise’s talent management strategy, processes, and programs.
    11. Perform all other duties as assigned.



    1. Bachelor’s required or master’s degree preferred (e.g., M.S., M.A., M.B.A.) in Business, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development (OD), Industrial and Organizational Psychology, or related field is required.
    2. Minimum 2 years in progressive OD, Leadership Development or equivalent field required.
    3. Experience with selection and development of talent, succession planning, management/leadership development, coaching & assessment.
    4. OD background and change management capability at the individual, team and organization level.
    5. Proven track record of working with HR and business leaders to develop and deploy enterprise wide strategies, programs, and processes.
    6. Strong project management skills.
