    Under the direction of the VP, Branding & Communications, the Director, Editorial Content will serve in a critical leadership role in the development, management and execution of the branded content strategy across all of AltaMed’s digital, social and traditional communication channels. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing communications team creating work that is changing the face of health care marketing. This role will collaborate with a wide variety of key stakeholders across AltaMed to develop content aligned with AltaMed’s brand mission, and will be responsible for delivering content that engages AltaMed’s target consumers, patients, physicians and employees, and helps increase brand favorability across multiple distribution channels.



    1. Overseeing the editorial strategy, content development, overall public relations activities, and publishing calendar for the company's branded content site, AltaMed.org, as well as all target audience platforms, both digital and otherwise
    2. Lead process and workflow innovations related to publishing content by developing standards, systems and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing, including the real-time implementation of content strategies.
    3. Serving as lead agency relationship manager to ensure effective use of agency content development resources, maintain efficient production calendars and budgets, and oversee continuous process optimizations on behalf of the team
    4. Managing a team of highly experienced team of writers, editors, and producers to ensure consistency across all internal and external content developed on AltaMed’s behalf, and adherence to brand voice, style and tone guidelines
    5. Editing and reviewing a wide variety of content types, including social content, video, articles and long-form content
    6. Contributing to the development of AltaMed branded content and amplification strategy and overseeing various content components of the AltaMed brand campaign
    7. Ensuring that site performance analysis, CMS, SEO tactics and media/reputation insights are continuously used to optimize content development
    8. Establishing new processes for internal collaboration and review to optimize content development process
    9. Provide supervision and performance management for assigned staff; includes interviewing, coaching and development.
    10. Perform other related duties as assigned.


    1. BA/BS Degree in Communications or related area coupled with a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in innovative, strategic, editorial, writing, and storytelling experience across all channels – web, digital, social, and print.
    2. Proven success using content and social media of various types to advance consumer brands
    3. Ability to inspire, motivate and lead cross-functional teams; able to win support of peers, seniors and juniors for projects
    4. Experience managing internal staff and agencies in a collaborative environment
