    Under the direction of the Director, Editorial Strategy, this position is responsible for developing and implementing internal communications strategies and plans that engage, align and inspire employees with AltaMed’s vision, business strategy and culture, and drives employees’ understanding and engagement on AltaMed’s priorities and key initiatives. This position will work closely with leaders on communication strategies and activities to support key corporate initiatives. Additionally, the Manager, Internal Communications will recommend and plan communications strategies, programs or activities that address specific business issues or employee needs and achieve desired results. This position will also support the implementation of the editorial content strategy for the organization to position AltaMed as a leader in the community and in the health care industry.     1. Develops and implements a comprehensive internal communications program with specific strategies and action plans to effectively communicate with and influence internal stakeholders.
    2. In conjunction with the Human Resources, Operations, and other functional areas, develops and executes strategies that help define AltaMed for its employees and earns their commitment and engagement in the key initiatives the organization will deploy. Creates and produces regular employee communications in print and/or electronic formats as appropriate.
    3. Draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees in a variety of formats
    4. Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; prioritize and schedule assignments.
    5. Develops communications measurement materials to gauge effectiveness and interest level of internal audiences.
    6. Works to ensure that AltaMed is taking full advantage of new communications tactics to ensure effective communications with employees. Create innovative ways to communicate information and motivate employees.
    7. Participates in crisis communication preparedness activities and supports Director and VP in that capacity
    8. Adhere to company-wide compliance with the AltaMed branding program in all communications materials.
    9. Oversees digital communications strategies and manages digital, web and social media strategies.
    10. Perform all other related duties as assigned.


    1. Bachelor’s degree preferably in journalism, public relations, communications, marketing or related field required.
    2. Minimum Five years communications experience in health care or related field required.
    3. Experience in a communications team, especially internal communication, for a large organization.
    4. Experience in writing for a variety of different audiences, editorial work including the planning, development and distribution of communications materials in multiple formats also required.
    5. Supervisory experience required.
    6. Bilingual, English and Spanish preferred
