  • Overview

    The Director of Development Operations reports directly to the Assistant Vice President of Development and will focus on providing executive level management of the comprehensive activities of the Development Department, Donor Relations and Stewardship and Prospect Management and Research programs. The Director of Development Operations will be responsible for providing direction and leadership for how technology supports and propels development; holding primary responsibilities for quality, accuracy and thoroughness of the donor database; data management, fiscal manager and analytics in support of AltaMed. The Director of Development Operations will foster a spirit of collaboration and customer service throughout the development and program services unit.

     

    Responsibilities

    1. Directing, managing and evaluating a comprehensive program including areas of information systems; data analytics; ad hoc, customer and standard report production; records management (biographical records maintenance and enhancement; procedural documentation, contact, proposal and general system maintenance);
    2. Developing and maintaining dashboard and providing management reports for fundraising and donor relations;
    3. Recommending and implementing policies and procedures to support fundraising and donor relations efforts;
    4. Developing training and support systems for AltaMed staff on use of all development information systems;
    5. Developing an annual data management plan to enhance and improve donor database, determining data acquisition, maintenance and dissemination priorities;
    6. Working with the foundation and AltaMed’s finance division to ensure that the fundraising data and financial data is accurate and reconciled on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
    7. Directing the development and implementation of a comprehensive organization-wide donor relations and stewardship program including a system that acknowledges, recognizes and retains donors at all giving levels;
    8. Engaging the organization, foundation and volunteers as appropriate in the stewardship of donors;
    9. Developing reports to donors that demonstrate the fiduciary care AltaMed has exercised over their gifts and the gifts’ impacts
    10. Responsible for management of gift acknowledgement process; monitoring, awarding and stewarding of funds; and identification and execution of donor-related activities.
    11. Support operational needs of AltaMed for Annual Fund, Major Gifts, Special Events, Employee Giving and Clinical Giving.
    12. Assist the Assistant Vice President of Development with preparation and monitoring of Development budgets.

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a liberal arts field coupled with a minimum of three years of nonprofit organization experience writing.
    2. Bi-lingual English/Spanish desirable.
