Under the direction of the Program Director/Center Manager will have the direct responsibility for the coordination of all food services including breakfast and lunch preparations, home meals, center snacks, and special events.
Coordinates all food preparation for day care center participants and delivery of meals to home bound participants.
Take breakfast and lunch temperatures when food arrives and when food is served as needed.
Assist in the preparation of the meal delivery ticket form.
Ensure dining room set-up, serving of meals and cleaning is completed on a daily basis.
Prepare and update special diet lists and present trays as instructed; will use discretion to protect patient privacy as much as possible.
Assists with the coordination of all food preparation for day care center participants and delivery of meals to home bound participants.
Monitor and record daily refrigeration temperatures and label food as needed.
Receive, test, prepare and serve catered lunches.
Supervise special diet requirements, e.g., pureed, chopped, low salt, etc. and assures that individual nutrition plans are followed.
Order all foods for breakfast, snacks, and lunches from caterer and other suppliers.
Order and maintain stock of supplemental oral feedings and snack/emergency food supplies.
Maintain records of meals served, participant lists, nutrition records, and other required reporting.
Oversee the daily duties of the kitchen staff and ensures all food preparation standards and regulations are met.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Food Safety Manager Certificate.
CPR/First Aid training required.
A minimum of two years experience working in any capacity in the Food Preparation department required; with the elderly population and their families preferably in a community agency or health care setting preferred.
A minimum of one year of experience in leading kitchen services preferred.
