    Under the direct supervision of the Director of Education and Training, the

    Supervisor, Clinical Education- HR is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing and clinical staff, by directing a team of clinical educators in the provisions of continuous development and learning activities, for Alta Med staff and patients. Services will align with the strategic goals of Alta Meds business initiative, mission, vision, values, and include utilization of needs assessment to determine gaps in clinical skills, care delivery and critical thinking, and collaboration with administration to design appropriate processes to eliminate gaps.




    Meets Expectation

    1. Manages, plans, and evaluates nursing and clinical staff, by overseeing a team of clinical educators, while ensuring best practices in clinical and patient education are sustained.
    2. Identifies, develops, and implements effective educational processes to eliminate or minimize gaps in didactic, clinical simulations, validation processes, and evaluation of educational and curriculum programs.
    3. Manages, develops, and maintains excellent relationships with clinical and nursing affiliates, i.e colleges and schools.
    4. Provides ongoing clinical outcome reports and analysis of training activities to operations.
    5. Develops annual education plan, and retention strategies based upon the assessment need of clinical staff, including orientation of new hires, ongoing competency assessments, and continuing education requirements.
    6. Manages clinical operating expenditures and budget parameters while achieving outcomes.
    7. Monitors and ensures clinical compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and accreditation standards.
    8. Collaborates with nursing administration in developing and implementing nursing professional standards, and applicability to quality improvement, education and research.
    9. Supervises vendors or contractors as assigned; mentors and coaches peers and members of the training team.
    10. Hardwire company service standards and visibly align and model actions, attitude, and carry out work responsibilities with AltaMed’s Mission, Standards of Behavior, AIDET, and ALTA.

    11. Identifies and evaluates learning agility testing, aptitude, interest and/or skills-based testing and internal instructor-led training.

    12. Designs and develops instructional courses and systems in accordance with adult learning models within the context of the organizational need.

    13. Uses the AMU training portal to assign, deliver, and track training; creates reports, monitor trends, and make recommendations based on objective data.

    14. Represent Alta Med on various advisory boards and commissions.

    15. Performs more complex analytical project tasks and other duties as necessary.

    2. Conduct on-going research, market surveys; assess training needs of potential clients and plans trainings for the coming year.
    3. May assist other disciplines within the Human Resources Department.
    4. Performs more complex analytical project tasks and other duties as necessary.



    1. Registered Nurse, Master’s Degree in Nursing or Health Care Administration from an accredited college or university
    2. 5-7 years successful experience in the delivery of training programs, preferably in healthcare organizations or academia
    3. Training experience in a healthcare organization policies and procedures. Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
