  • Overview

    Under the direction of the Communications Manager, the Senior Specialist, Communications will research, draft and deliver well-crafted and on-brand content for a wide range of projects and initiatives across the department and company including various digital and traditional company platforms such as newsletters, letters, corporate website, intranet, as well as other corporate-wide communications. Responsible for developing and writing all forms of marketing copy and materials, with a particular focus on translating overall brand and communications strategy into compelling content. Serves as the liaison among department and internal and external business partners to lead communications planning sessions to fully understand the project goals. Project manage various monthly mailings for internal and external audiences.


    1. Research, write, review, and edit content and presentations for various vehicles including e-newsletters and corporate intranet.
    2. Attend meetings and interview staff at multiple levels of the organization to help create content for various publication platforms.
    3. Develop content that authentically engages multiple audiences across all media platforms.
    4. Create strategic communication plans and measure communication effectiveness, gather feedback, report findings and conclusions and prepare action plans.
    5. Manage digital content, including online, web and social media channels.
    6. Supports corporate brand strategy program by assisting with brand maintenance duties including issuing guidance to internal and external users about adherence to brand standards, communicating policies and procedures and assisting with proper application and adherence.
    7. Serves as a proofreader/editor for materials.
    8. Coordinate press conferences in partnership with other departments.
    9. Prepares distribution lists and ensures materials are distributed to relevant audiences, including posting on electronic sources
    10. Participates in the identification and selection of vendors to design, prepare and/or print materials.
    11. Able to maintain the customer's perspective as a driving force behind business decisions and activities
    12. Responds positively to change, embracing and using new practices or methods to accomplish goals and solve problems
    13. Maintains strict confidentiality.
    14. Perform all other related duties as assigned.


    1. BA/BS degree or equivalent coupled with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in journalism, communication, marketing or related field.
    2. Health care copywriting experience is preferred. High level of interest, knowledge, and enthusiasm for the health care industry a plus.
    3. Familiar with AP and Oxford Styles guides preferred.
    4. Bilingual (English/Spanish) demonstrated skills in both verbal and written communications a plus.
    5. Project management experience is a plus.
