Under the direction of the AVP of Civic Engagement, the Director of Civic Engagement will be responsible for implementing AltaMed’s Civic Engagement mission, guiding principles and priorities to increase community and company integrated voter engagement. The Director will work collaboratively with the AVP to create and set the direction of AltaMed’s Civic Engagement strategy. The Director will identify, establish and foster strategic partnerships with community-based organizations in support of our priorities. The Director will also establish comprehensive relationships with internal company departments and a broad array of external community leaders as necessary. The Director will participate in external community meetings, roundtables, coalitions, conferences, events and collaboratives to promote and amplify our civic engagement goals. In addition, the Director will serve as a lead on voter engagement non-partisan and issue based campaigns. The Director will also be responsible for the success of ongoing community engagement efforts in support of our all company integrated voter engagement efforts. The Director will also work to expand awareness of the AltaMed Action Fund 501c4 social welfare mission among community members and elected officials in California by engaging in legislative and grassroots lobbying, educational voter engagement campaigns and social welfare advocacy. The Director is required to work successfully with representatives of different communities, organizations, neighborhoods with respect to the diverse populations and cultures. This position will also support AltaMed’s government relations priorities.

Responsibilities will include diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning. Provides a variety of interventions such as individual, group, child and family therapy. Interventions will focus on short-term problem-solving therapy, short-term cognitive behavioral therapy, brief psychodynamic therapy, crisis intervention, coping skills, substance abuse treatment, behavior modification, case consultations, and other evidence- based practice techniques. The school therapist is a member of a multidisciplinary team that includes teachers, counselors, psychiatric social works, school administration, medical providers, nursing staff, medical support staff, case managers, administrators, managers, and directors. The therapist will collaborate with the patient and the family to define the treatment goals and measures of success of treatment by utilizing evidence-based outcome measures.  May attend various conferences/workshops concerning mental health treatment, and may be involved in several research studies or multidisciplinary projects.
